This class provides a formation in and practical initiation into Catholic social teaching and initiatives. Students are guided through research into specific areas of Catholic social teachings, the history of social justice movements, and the current activities of those who pursue Catholic social teachings. As part of their service to the school, NHS members provide peer-tutoring assistance to fellow classmates in various academic areas. NHS also helps charity organizations such as the Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Fayette Senior Services, and United Way Shoebox Project.
Mercy Senior Service Day is an annual event where our students help the local community with various projects. From food pantries to elementary schools to parishes, our seniors work hard to make a difference in the lives of others.
