Liturgy and Prayer
AMA Choir
Mercy’s AMA choir is a liturgical choir involved in the monthly school masses, graduation ceremonies and in other prayer services of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The choir welcomes students from all grades and at any level of singing skill.
Lectors
“The word of God is living and effective…” (Hebrews 4:12). Lectors proclaim the Word of God during School Masses, Monday Chapel Mass and prayer services. For School Masses and other important liturgies, lectors are identified in advance and supported as they prepare to proclaim the Word.
Altar Servers
Altar servers have a unique and distinct role in the celebration of the Mass. They are called to serve the priest and greater assembly with focus and reverence. Altar servers should be familiar with the order of the liturgy and know their specific cues.
Prayer Services
During the year, the Mercy community gathers together for prayer, reflection and spiritual growth. Prayer services include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Praying the rosary
-All Souls Day prayer services
-Advent prayer services
-Lenten prayer services
Eucharistic Ministers
Confirmed seniors and juniors can serve as Eucharistic ministers at Our Lady of Mercy. These young men and women reverently distribute communion at all Community and weekday Masses and help also as ushers as needed.
