Arts

Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly father.
Matthew 5:16

Our fine arts program plays a key role in supporting the academic mission of Our Lady of Mercy, developing students into goal oriented, responsible global citizens both on and off the performing stage. Mercy’s fine arts department teaches the value of empathy, intercultural dialogue, and social engagement while maintaining a Christ-centered, safe environment. We want Mercy student-artists to grow in their academic and spiritual life, becoming positive, role models in all of their future endeavors.  Moreover, Mercy’s fine arts programs are competitive and inclusive. Our program boasts numerous region championships.

Goals
The Fine Arts Department at Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic High School offers students an opportunity to experience the Arts in a positive and nurturing environment. While providing the knowledge of basic skills, the essence of self-confidence, and the value of historical content, each student is encouraged to share their talent with their school and community. It is through exposure to the Arts that students will protect their heritage and relationship with the past, present, and future cultures and insure the growth of well-rounded individuals within our society.

We hold the Arts in the highest regard and delight in the discovery of each student’s individual talents.
