Bobcat Tennis falls to Paideia

March 16th, 2011

It was a tough day for the Mercy Tennis Team as they hosted Paideia for a region match.  Many Mercy players fell behind early and were not able to make up the deficit. However, great play from #3 girls singles player Jordan Hameen earned her another solid win for the third match in a row, 8-0.

#1 girls singles player Brandi Nelson played a tough match against a talented opponent, falling 2-5 early. However, Nelson was able to rally back to 7-6 playing many close points before falling 7-9. The #2 boys doubles team of Lance McGuffie and Liam Devlin made their debut as a doubles team in stunning fashion, playing aggressive tennis.  Though they lost 7-9, the match was exciting to watch and was close throughout.

The Bobcats' next match is against Atlanta International School tomorrow, March 17th, at Bitsy Grant Tennis Center. Their last home match is Monday, March 21st against Strong Rock Christian Academy. This is also a marquee event so come out and cheer on Mercy Tennis!
