Mercy Records Record Win

April 17th, 2012

The Mercy baseball team beat Temple Monday night 3-2 for the school record breaking 9th win. Thomas Smilie pitched a one-hitter and a complete game. John Keuler scored all three runs, reaching base on a fielder's choice in the first, a single to left in the 3rd, and a beautiful drag bunt base hit in the 5th.  He then stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch, and then scored the game winner on a squeeze bunt off the bat off Austin Loper.

Loper also had the first RBI in inning 1 and Christian Griffith added an RBI single in the third.  Thomas Smilie was "lights out" as they say.  Our defense was fabulous as well, accentuated by a game ending double play by Keuler.
