Art is more than just a fun subject. It's also important for developing creativity and innovative thinking within the mind of each student.  Projects are structured to provide opportunities for the exploration of new ideas and the extension of old ones.  Students create numerous original pieces of art, useful for creating portfolios as well as decorating their family's walls!

Many different techniques and mediums are introduced through the visual arts classes at Mercy.  Essential artistic elements are taught while allowing each student to find their own style.  In addition, students will learn about art history, graphic design, and many pragmatic applications of art.  While at Mercy, students can work their way from Art I to Art III, and can also progress to Advanced Placement Studio Art.
