Homecoming Week 2010

Homecoming week is one of the most memorable weeks in high school life. Student government has been working hard to make this year's Homecoming festivities fun events. The theme for this year is “One World, One Night.”  

Question #1: What are the various Homecoming Week Events?


Friday, October 1:
 Save the World Day* (Dress as your favorite hero)

Monday, October 4:
Seasons Day* (Dress like your favorite season)

Tuesday, October 5: Hollywood Access Day* (Dress like your favorite hollywood actor, reality TV show personality, etc.)

Hallway decorating contest, 2:00 p.m.


Wednesday, October 6:
Play'd Out Day* (Dress in "old school" clothes)


Thursday, October 7:
No Dress Down Day - Mass with Archbishop Gregory (winter uniform)


Friday, October 8:
Spirit Day - Wear your Homecoming shirt or a Mercy shirt

Powder Puff Football game, 2:00 p.m.

Homecoming Court coronation 7:00 p.m.

Homecoming football game, 7:30 p.m. kickoff


Saturday, October 9:
Homecoming Dance, 7:00-11:00 p.m., OLM gym*

Note: Mercy students must uphold the Dress Code regarding shoes, hairstyles, and jewelry on dress down days.

Question #2: If my child is elected for Homecoming Court, when does he/she have to be at the football game?

This year, the coronation will take place BEFORE the football game. All students who are on the Homecoming Court will need to arrive no later than 6:30 p.m.

 

Question #3: What is the dress code for the dance?

The dress code is  semi-formal. Boys should wear a suit and girls should be in a semi-formal dress.  

 

Question #4: Can my son/daughter bring a date who does not attend OLM?

Yes. However, he/she must receive special permission by filling out the Homecoming Date form which has to be signed by the school administrator of the guest. You may also obtain the form at the front desk.

 

Question #5: Does my son/daughter have to bring a date in order to attend the dance?

No. Many students choose to come to the dance with a group of friends. However, an OLM student is only allowed to bring one guest from another school.

 

Question #6: What is the cost of the week?

There are a number of options, depending on the desires of your children.

 

Premium Spirit Week Package: $30.00: (BEST DEAL)

·         T-Shirt

·         5 dress down days

·         Dance Ticket

·         Homecoming spirit arm band

Spirit Week Package: $20.00:

·         T-shirt

·         5 dress down days

·         Spirit arm band

T-Shirt Only: $10.00.

Dance Only: $15.00 in advance; $20.00 at the door.

5 dress down days Only: $15.00.

 

Question #7: Where can I buy tickets to the events?

Pre-paid packages will be on sale during lunch from Wednesday, September 15th to Friday, September 24th.  We have to turn in our t-shirt order to the company by Saturday, September 25th. You may send in your payment with your children. Checks should be made payable to OLM.

 

Question #8: Can I buy an extra t-shirt for myself or my other family members?

Yes. Just include an extra $10.00 per t-shirt and the desired t-shirt size.  

 

Question #9: How can I volunteer to help?

We will need people to donate food and help set up for the dance on Saturday. Please contact Cynthia Launay-Fallasse to help.
