Bobcats make State Playoffs in multiple sports

April 26th, 2011

Several Bobcat teams are competing in post-season play over the next few weeks.

The Girls Soccer team qualified for the playoffs with a huge victory over Pacelli last week. They will play at Towns County in the first round of the State Soccer Tournament on Thursday, April 28 at 5:30 PM.

The Boys Track & Field team competed in field events at the Region Meet yesterday. Senior Courtney Prevost qualified for the State Meet (held the first weekend in May) with stunning finishes.  Prevost became the Region Champion in both the triple jump and long jump and was Region Runner-Up in the high jump.

Senior Pierce Vincent also competed well yesterday, taking third place in the long jump.  The boys team finished strong, amassing 34 points collectively.

The Girls Track & Field team will be looking for spots in the State Meet when they compete at Region next week.

The Girls Tennis team continues its historic run in the State Tournament with its second round match against Mount Pisgah today at 3:30 PM at the Country Club of Roswell.

Good luck to all the spring Varsity teams competing in the post-season!
