MASS DURING THE WEEK:

    Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7:10 a.m.*  Tuesdays and Thursdays to be determined.

    *There will be no daily Mass when there is a school Mass or a late starting time

HOLY HOUR OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION:

We have implemented Eucharistic Adoration for all day on Fridays, starting immediately following the 7:10 Mass and lasting until 2:45.  We still need volunteers to seve as guardians during this time.  All in the community are invited to join us for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  Please contact Fr. Jimmy for more information.

SCHOOL MASS

Once a month at 9:30 a.m. (or at a different time, as noted), families and others in the community are invited to celebrate our community Mass with us. Scheduled Mass days are as follows:

August 15:  Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. 

September 26: Recognition of the Freshmen and new students -  Freshmen will receive their gifts, and they, along with all new faculty and students, will sign the Mercy book to officially welcome them into our community.   We will also acknowledge academic excellence from 2nd semester of last year.

October 10: Mass with Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory.  We are honored that Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory will be here to celebrate the Mass with us. 

November 1:  Feast of All Saints - Please join us for our monthly community Mass as we celebrate the Feast of All Saints.  During this Mass we willrecognize our Junior class with their class gifts.  Class rings will also be blessed during this Mass. 

December 7: The Immaculate Conception Commemoration (actual feast is Dec. 8) - Please join us for our monthly community Mass as we honor the blessed Mother in commemoration of her immaculate conception. Our Sophomores will also be recognized and presented with their class gifts.

January 16: Respect Life Mass - Please join us at our monthly community Mass as we are reminded to respect life from conception through natural death.  We will also recognize our 1st semester academic achievers.

February 13: Ash Wednesday - Please join us as we celebrate the beginning of the season of Lent , with the distribution of ashes during the Mass.

March 13:  Our monthly community Mass.  All are welcome and invited to celebrate with us. 

April 19: Multi-cultural Mass - Please join us for our annual multi-cultural Mass, when we celebrate and recognize the diversity in our community and invite students and faculty to dress in the clothes of their heritage.  We are especially honored that Bishop Luis Zarama will be the main celebrant for this Mass.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MASS WILL BEGIN AT 10:00 a.m.

May 7:  Senior Recognition Mass - Please join us as we celebrate and recognize our senior class, and present them with their class gifts during this Mass.   PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MASS WILL BEGIN AT TBD.

May 18:  Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation:  Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory will be the main celebrant of the Mass, and will distribute the diplomas to the graduating seniors.   Special time:  12:00 p.m.  and a ticket is required.

 

PENANCE SERVICE:

Our Lady of Mercy offers a penance service once a semester for students and faculty. Several priests from the Archdiocese join our school community for adoration and individual confessions from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. on these days.  The dates for this year are to be determined.  All students will have the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation or to receive a blessing from one of the priests.  Thank you to all the local priests who will join the Mercy community on this day.  Please contact Father Jimmy if you have any questions. 

 

CLASS RETREATS

Freshmen - August 29, 2012.  A "Hike to Holiness" will consist of climbing Stone Mountain, celebrating Mass at the summit, bonding as a class.
