Standardized Testing


Our Lady of Mercy will administer the PSAT to all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors on October 11, 2017.

The PSAT allows you to:
*Assess your critical reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing skills.
*Get specific suggestions on how to improve your academic skills.
*Prepare for the SAT with a free personalized study plan.
*Enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation competitions for recognition and scholarships.
*Request free information from colleges and universities.
*Use My College Quick Start to access free resources and information about college and career planning.

SAT & ACT Information

CollegeBoard ( not only provides helpful information about various colleges and universities, but it also sponsors the SAT for students. The SAT is a standardized assessment measure used by most colleges and universities to determine literacy, writing, problem solving, and analyzing skills needed for academic success in college. *If you would like to request testing accommodations for the SAT, please contact Amanda Smith at least 3 months prior to the test date.

ACT is another standardized assessment used by colleges and universities to measure academic achievement and college readiness. The ACT tests students in English, mathematics, reading, science, and writing. Click the link below for test dates. Visit their website ( for more information about the test, locations, and fees.


Our Lady of Mercy offers a SAT Prep course to juniors. The class meets second semester to review test-taking skills, as well as practice English and mathematics skills. For more information, please see the course catalogue. Rising Juniors can elect to sign up for this class during registration.

AP Exam

We offer several Advanced Placement courses at OLM (for a full list, please refer to the course catalogue), and more information about how to register for the exams will be distributed during each individual AP class.
