Adams to Play Football at Methodist
June 7th, 2010
George Adams transferred to Our Lady of Mercy following his sophomore year. Due to his transfer, Adams was deemed ineligible for varsity competition. For many, this designation would have been cause for relaxing and an overall poor attitude. For George, this designation created an inner motivation that propelled him to the role of team captain for the varsity football team in one year.
As a player, George was a jack-of-all-trades on offense spending time at half-back, fullback, and starting two games at quarterback due to injuries. However, his true role was on defense at the inside linebacker position. Adams was the second leading tackler on the team while leading the team in tackles-for-loss with twelve and recording seven quarterback sacks. He also caused three fumbles and intercepted one pass. George’s efforts on the field were tremendous, but his sacrifices and putting the team first attitude are what will enable him to be a successful member of the Methodist University Football program in the coming years. Congratulations to George and Methodist, and good luck!
