Baseball Team Loses to Temple 10-3
March 4th, 2011
The Temple Tigers scored first by putting up 3 runs in the first and another in the second to jump out to an early 4-0 lead. The Bobcats cut into the lead in the 4th inning when Austin Loper delivered on a suicide squeeze, allowing John Keuler and Christian Griffith to score who had both reached on walks.
Up 4-2, the Tigers answered back with 3 runs to extend the lead to 7-2. Loper, who pitched very well for the Bobcats, would surrender one more run before leaving the game in the 6th inning, handing the ball over to reliever Kip Darden. Darden pitched well in relief, despite giving up a couple of unearned runs.
Defensively, John Keuler anchored the Bobcats making several tough plays and cutting down two runners attempting to score from third. Justin Larkin also made several key plays from centerfield. The Bobcats will travel to Pinecrest Tuesday, March 8th, to try to secure their first win of the season, followed by another trip back to west Georgia Wednesday to play Mt. Zion.
