 The boys and girls basketball seasons will be in came to an end in the 1st round of the 9A region tournament. The girls fell to SACA, while the boys lost to Paideia.

 The baseball team opened up their season under the direction of new head coach, Kevin Nix. The bobcats hosted Fellowship Christian   

 The tennis team opened their season on February 17th at home against Whitefield. While both teams lost the overall match, Brandi nelson and Taylor Murray did have big wins at #1 and #2.

 The boys and girls soccer teams opened the 2011 season at 4A East Paulding. The girls fell 2-6 and the boys dropped the opener 0-2. While both teams showed great promise, they also discovered several areas that they could work on for improvement. On Wednesday night, both teams bounced back with wins over WD Mohammed. The girls won 6-0 and the boys won 7-0.

 The Track team will open their season at Starr’s Mill on February 26th at 9:00am.

 The golf teams will have their first match on February 28th at Cannongate vs Ben Franklin Academy.


**Please save May 21, 2011 on your calendar**  If you joined us for the reverse raffle dinner last year, you will be pleased to know that the date has been set for this year’s event.   Where else can you go and enjoy dinner and possibly win twice in one night!!  Stay tuned for more information.


 A reminder that Athletic banquets are now being held by each individual team. Please contact your coach for more information.

 A few Athletic Department Reminders:

 Letter Jackets are now available therough NEFF and through Rick Shrewsbury (the Herff Jones man). Please contact the athletic office with any questions. 

 If you have any desire to help out with our seasonal sports program (ad sales, photography, admin work to organize), please contact Coach Schmitz at 770-461-2202 ext 402. We are looking for dedicated parents to assist  Mrs. Lisa Shupenus as we continue to work on making a great program for Mercy Athletics.
